Nicky And Georgina With The Twins In Hello! Magazine

Nicky Byrne and his wife Georgina Ahern, daughter of Irish prime minister Bertie Ahern, last week were getting set to spend their first 14 February as a foursome, taking a pre-valentines day stroll in London with their ten month old twins Rocco and jay. The tiny tots not only looked exactly alike, sporting spiky blonde hairdos just like dad, they were also kitted out in matching adidas track suits. However, Nicky has said that they have very different personalities. “Jay is the loudest - he has a good set of lungs,” he said of his new babies last spring. “Rocco’s a bit quieter, but he’s feistier!” The twins have come a long way since their birth last April, when they arrived six weeks prematurely by caesarean section. Weighing it at just three pounds each, the boys required a lengthy hospital stay, coming home to their delighted and certainly relieved mum and dad in late may. Georgina and Nicky are famously family oriented - Rocco’s middle name Bertie, is in honour of the taoiseach, while Jay Nicky was named after Nicky’s dad - and when they married, they were already dreaming of the patter of tiny feet. “Having a stable family home with children is really important to us,” Georgina told hello! As exclusively covered their spectacular French wedding in 2003. “Nicky wants five children, but I’d be happy with three. He’ll make a brilliant dad.” The couple christened the twins last July in the village of Malahide, a seaside suburb of Dublin. Nicky’s westlife bandmates were among the guests and Mark Feehily remarked on how much they members’ lives have changed. “Looking back, to think when we were 18 it was going to be like this, having kids and still being together… it’s great,” he said. With over a dozen of number one hits under their belts and around 40 million albums sold, westlife are certainly still going strong. The band will kick off their ten-year anniversary tour this month in Belfast, and their new single, Us Against The World, will be out in March. But this time round, Nicky will be taking it all in from the perspective of a young dad. “It’s just fantastic,” he has said of fatherhood. “They grow up so quickly, it’s amazing.”
